Colourful shirts, African rhythms and varied indie-influences have led to critics describing Indigo Velvet as Tropical-pop. They begin 2017 on Vic Galloway (BBC Introducing) and Jim Gellatly’s (The Sun) ’ones to watch’ lists, after a landmark 2016 saw them championed by The Metro, Scotland On Sunday, Clash Magazine, The Sun, The Skinny Magazine and industry publication Record of the Day.
Thanks to a growing fanbase, they’ve clocked up over 250,000 Spotify plays and performed to sizeable crowds at T In The Park, Lindisfarne, Belladrum and XpoNorth festivals.
Airplay includes BBC Introducing, Radio X, a spot-play on Radio 1 and live sessions on Amazing Radio and the Janice Forsyth Show on BBC Radio Scotland. The young quartet from Edinburgh, topped off a triumphant year with a UK TOUR (sold-out Leeds, Glasgow, Edinburgh), accompanied by the release of new single ‘Sunrise’.
