Ella Munro

Ella Munro is a young folk singer hailing from the Isle of Skye, on the west coast of Scotland. After studying for five years at the prestigious national centre of excellence in traditional music in Plockton she then went on to gain a place studying Scots song at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland under the outstanding tutoring of Fiona Hunter. During her time in Glasgow she has supported well known acts such as the Paul McKenna Band, Archie Fisher, Tannara and many more. Ella has also performed at many high profile venues such as Eden Court, Holyrood, Westminster, WOMAD festival, Edinburgh folk club, the Star folk club and others. She also frequently performs at local folk clubs in and around Glasgow. Ella’s passion for both traditional and contemporary music can be seen in her varied repertoire of scots songs by the likes of Dick Gaughan and Adam MacNaughton, (to name but a few) to her self-penned songs. In 2017 Ella will be undertaking 2 tours around Scotland in April and July and also releasing an EP of well-loved Scots songs.
