We are open 6 pm till midnight with traditional music Monday to Friday and from 2 pm Saturday with our famous Super Ceilidh at 2.30 pm – 4.30 pm

Music starts from 9pm Monday – Saturday, please note we are closed Sundays.
Reservations for dinner can be made using OpenTable

For 19 years, Hootananny has been promoting the best grass roots music in Scotland. Mumford and Sons, Sam Fender, Jake Bugg, Dougie Mclean and Skerryvore have all played the venue.

The building is a lovely traditional Victorian Inverness old sweety shop with traditional Scottish music on our ground floor and indie, hiphop,ska and rock upstairs on the Madhatters stage.

The family run business has been awarded Scotland’s Best Live Music Venue 2019 by Scottish Bar and Pub Awards and Best Inverness Pub of the Year, 8 years running, by Inverness City Advertiser. Open daily for pub drinkers, we have a delicious Scottish menu of traditional dishes cooked to perfection from 6 pm.

For this special show to celebrate the launch of their album Talk About The Weather, they will also be joined by special guest Moteh Parrott.

If you were into music in the late 70s and early 80s, the chances are you were into 2-Tone, the iconic Coventry based label that was home to Ska revivalists like The Beat, Madness and the amazing Specials.

Eight piece ska band Porkpie are coming to Mad Hatters in Inverness to faithfully recreate  the songs of 2 Tone and rocksteady ska. This band are the real deal, from the  classic ‘big’ ska band mould, with a full brass section, keys, guitars and porkpie hats to match they play with an intensity and energy that will have you dancing!

Katie Gregson-MacLeod is a 20 year-old singer-songwriter from Inverness in the Scottish Highlands.

In 2020, the artist sold out her first headline show and released her debut single ‘Still a Sad Song’, to acclaim from the likes of Vic Galloway, Roddy Hart and Jim Gellatly.

Her follow-up, ‘Games I Play’, featured as ‘Track of the Week’ on Janice Forsyth’s Afternoon Show, BBC Introducing Scotland and BBC Radio Nan Gaidheal’s Rapal. The artist released her debut EP of the same name in June 2021.
