For 19 years, Hootananny has been promoting the best grass roots music in Scotland. Mumford and Sons, Sam Fender, Jake Bugg, Dougie Mclean and Skerryvore have all played the venue.
The building is a lovely traditional Victorian Inverness old sweety shop with traditional Scottish music on our ground floor and indie, hiphop,ska and rock upstairs on the Madhatters stage.
The family run business has been awarded Scotland’s Best Live Music Venue 2019 by Scottish Bar and Pub Awards and Best Inverness Pub of the Year, 8 years running, by Inverness City Advertiser. Open daily for pub drinkers, we have a delicious Scottish menu of traditional dishes cooked to perfection from 6 pm.

With his son Sam they have been entertaining many across the country and abroad including a recent slot opening for Peat and Diesel at the legendary Barrowland in Glasgow.

Mad Ferret are a Scottish duo, known on the folk scene for their hard hitting blend of traditional and contemporary Folk music. Their lively, energetic performances are packed with “blisteringly fast Mandolin solos”, tight harmonies, driving Cajon beats and earth-moving Guitar sounds. The influence from both Scottish and Irish folk music has helped shape their unique sound.

Dolly Parton is a unique performer and one of the greatest songwriters of her generation. After five decades in the business she maintains her position as an iconic vocalist, composer, actress and business inspiration.
Since 2015 Andrea has been starring as Dolly in theatres and venues across the country.
This Country and Western tribute act is paying homage to Dolly Parton and all the fantastic music she has written and performed over the years.

The Quadrophenia Project – it’s not just a band, it’s a way of life.
The aim is simple – to share a live experience of the wonderful, amazing piece of music history that is Quadrophenia!
The goal is to recreate the energy, the drama and the emotional journey of The Who’s 1973 rock-opera and allow the audience to share in the genius of those who made it possible.
Combining fiddle, guitar, vocals & percussions, Shaydes are a high octane duo based in Inverness. Their unique mix of Quebecois fiddle tunes and rock & roll influenced Irish/Scottish folk songs is known for captivating audiences across the Highlands.
Willie Campbell was the frontman of Glasgow indie rockers Astrid, foot soldier with The Reindeer Section and a man around the bars of the city in the late 1990’s. When the lifestyle and business of music got too much Willie retreated to the place he had once been glad to escape and sought refuge and solace on his native Lewis.
