What’s on at Hootananny and Mad Hatters
For 19 years, Hootananny has been promoting the best grass roots music in Scotland. Mumford and Sons, Sam Fender, Jake Bugg, Dougie Mclean and Skerryvore have all played the venue.
The building is a lovely traditional Victorian Inverness old sweety shop with traditional Scottish music on our ground floor and indie, hiphop,ska and rock upstairs on the Madhatters stage.
The family run business has been awarded Scotland’s Best Live Music Venue 2019 by Scottish Bar and Pub Awards and Best Inverness Pub of the Year, 8 years running, by Inverness City Advertiser. Open daily for pub drinkers, we have a delicious Scottish menu of traditional dishes cooked to perfection from 6 pm.

Hailing from Inverness the capital city of the Scottish Highlands Schiehallion are a Scottish Folk/Ceilidh band who have spent the last number of years both at home and further afield building an impressive ardent fan base, this has culminated in them being deserving of their widely held reputation as a fiery and passionate must see live music act.
Members of the Inverness musician community come together along with friends from further afield to perform a fundraiser over two nights at Hootanananny and Mad Hatters on Friday April 29th and Market Bar on Saturday April 30th.

Maria McAveety is a 22-year-old Street Performer and Musician from Glasgow. Maria has worked in the industry for a decade performing on high streets across the UK as well as at weddings, in bars and at events and shows. In addition Maria has performed on the BBC Stage at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and at an International Food Festival in New York to name a few.
Talented young accordion player Kyle Powell leads an ensemble of local musicians to provide an entertaining night of the best in Scottish Traditional tunes.
Formed at the end of 2018, Rudebeard specialise in energetic, sweaty, sweary, usually loud & occasionally thoughtful ska– punk, fast ska, slow ska, ska that’s not really ska and one attempted Scottish fitba anthem cos why no?
One of the Highland’s top performers Chris Henderson comes to Hootananny for a night of lively acoustic covers to keep the party going into the wee hours!
