Formed in the year 2000, Rooty Ma Toot Big Band has, over the years, included many of the top musicians around Inverness.
They have played at Castles, Highland Stately Homes, Corporate Functions, Inverness Caledonian Thistle Stadium, Eden Court Theatres, Ironworks Venue, Festivals including Main Stage & the Ice House Jazz Stage at Belladrum, Jocktoberfest, Thunder in the Glen, Clubs, many private functions, and featured several times on Moray Firth Radio.
They have occasional showcase gigs in Inverness.
Regular line up has Piano, Bass, Drums, Guitar,
4 Trumpets, 4 Trombones and 5 Saxes. Regular Vocalists: Pete Mackie & Julie Keen.
Iain Macdonald and Erik Spence along with a range of guests host the longest running ceilidh in Scotland every Saturday from 2.30 pm – 4.30 pm at Hoots!
The best party band in the Highlands and Islands
The Full Tilit Ceilidh Band is a lively, fun bunch. They consist of fiddles, box, keyboard and vocals. Don’t know the dances? They will call and demonstrate.
The Side are based in Ross-Shire in the Scottish Highlands.
Drawing influences from the likes of The Beatles, Ben Folds Five, Catfish and the Bottlemen and Ocean Colour Scene.
2017 saw the band promote their second album “Starting Over”. Highlight gigs included playing EDF Festival over on Benbecula and the main stage at Belladrum Festival.
The band are currently working on new material and hope to relase their third album later in the year.
