Der Himmel über Berlin/The Liittle Mill of Happiness

22nd April 2017 @ 10:30 pm – 23rd April 2017 @ 3:00 am

Der Himmel Über Berlin are a band coming from extreme north-east of Italy whose name explicitly reveals their attraction to middle-european sonority and atmosphere even though their lyrics are in english. Their sound takes us to postpunk based on the likes of Bauhaus, Joy Division and Sisters Of Mercy, but with a contemporary twist, which makes them easily placed on the musical map and keeps them original nevertheless.

Featuring members of such Highland luminaries as Shutter, Low Tide Revelry, Stetsonhead and The Lush Rollers, The Little Mill Of Happiness formed outside Inverness music hotspot Market Bar due to their shared mutual appreciation of Pavement, Tom Waits, The Replacements and Dinosaur Jr – although their influences bring in the poetry of Philip Larkin and Charles Bukowski to the literature of Kurt Vonnegut and J.G Ballard.
